Our vision is purely and simply to house and support individuals with substance misuse related issues, with the care and dignity every human has a right to.

We are a not-for-profit community interest company that works alongside local authorities and referral partners to provide a service to the community by finding suitable accommodation for individuals with substance misuse related issues.

Our mission is to work alongside our service users to develop and deliver high- quality accommodation with recovery support.

We anticipate being a positive disruptor within the sector, challenging norms to achieve the highest standard of housing and support whilst enabling and empowering Individuals to thrive independently.

Our service offers on-going support on a one-to-one basis ensuring that the best support is provided to each one of them.

We are committed to piloting innovative solutions to make meaningful differences to the health and support of every individual we house.

We work in partnership with local authorities to build sustainable communities, helping service users become active and valued members of the community.

We are acutely aware of how challenging breaking cycles can be.We are dedicated to finding innovative ways to effectively support each individual's pathway to independence.

About Bright Start

Bright Start Homes is an established Community Interest Company that currently works with several local authorities across the north of England providing supported exempt accommodation to some of society's most vulnerable.

Our aim is to assist local authorities with their supported housing needs for individuals that require high quality care, support, and supervision. We have an operational portfolio, currently providing this type of accommodation to over 300 service users. We also work in partnership with multiple Registered Provider of Social Housing to deliver these opportunities.

Referral Process

Bright Start takes referrals from residential treatment centres, the police and probation services, drug and alcohol agencies, HM prisons, homeless shelters, GP surgeries plus self referrals.

Entry requirements are that applicants are committed to working towards an abstinent lifestyle.

Home Locations

Bright Start CIC is based in Preston, Lancashire and have a number of purpose built, multi occupancy houses and self contained one bedroom apartments.

Our recovery housing is available to adults with any addiction issues (excluding alcohol) from the Fylde Coast, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cumbria and throughout the North of England.
